Seneca One Spotlight

Blog

Seneca One Tower, located in the heart of downtown Buffalo, radiates with promising energy that continues to ripple into the entire city. Serving as a beacon for Buffalo’s growing startup and tech ecosystem, the tower is home to the 43North team, our current cohort, and many other startup leaders.

In 2014, Douglas Jemal purchased the building, located at 1 W Seneca Street, Buffalo, NY, with a clear vision and fierce ambition. Previously known as One HSBC Center, the tower stands 529 feet high and has 1,200,000 square feet of space. According to Douglas Development, “Seneca One Tower stands tall to inspire growth, creativity and a sense of collaboration that brings people together – and back to visit.” In 2020, after years of hard work and dedication, Buffalo’s tallest high rise reopened its doors to the community, igniting a flame for innovation and opportunity throughout the Queen City.

Aside from the incredible view from our office on the 24th floor, here’s a few more reasons why we’re hyped about being part of the SO community:

Location The commute from your home to the tower can be made easy with access to the 190 and use of the NFTA Metro, just next to the tower’s east and west entrance. Located just minutes from some of Buffalo’s largest attractions including Canalside, KeyBank Center, Sahlen’s Field, and Shea’s Performing Arts Center, the entertainment opportunities are endless.

Amenities – There is never a dull moment in the tower. The members of Douglas Development superbly host events at Seneca One to promote community involvement and unity. Whether it’s happy hour at the central lobby bar (from the set of The Sopranos), the Open Air Market on Thursdays, Jazz on the Plaz every Friday evening, a spin class in the Revolution Buffalo Clubhouse, or yoga by Space on Seneca in the main viewing room – there are always ways to get involved.

Community – Seneca One is more than just a tower; it’s a community! SO is home to a plethora of thriving companies who influence the Buffalo tech ecosystem and entrepreneurial community. Renowned as the center of Buffalo’s tech hub, SO boosts collaboration between these thriving companies who call the tower home. Companies including M&T Bank, Odoo, 43North, JustDishin, Endeavor WNY, Circuit Clinical, Kangarootime, and many others populate the 38 floors of Seneca One, each enhancing Buffalo’s startup ecosystem daily. This community optimizes the success of Buffalo’s tech ecosystem, growing at a rampant rate.

Apartments – Seneca One doesn’t have to be your home away from home during the workday… the space also offers 131 apartments with breathtaking views of the Queen City and an overly convenient commute to the office. The apartment building offers several amenities, including 24-hour fitness studio, bicycle storage, outdoor seating areas, and more.

It’s happening here, in Buffalo. So, what better place to work, live, and play than in the heart of downtown? It’s only just begun at Seneca One.
