BUFFALO, N.Y. – We’ve followed the 43North business competition for the last few years and the excitement it’s generated for local entrepreneurs.

Today, the folks behind it announced a new chance for small businesses to compete for cash, but this one has a very specific focus.

“The Pitch” as it is being called, is a $20,000 business competition specifically designed for women and minority small businesses in the Buffalo area.

The three best businesses will then be asked to make “The Pitch” at the opening of 43North Week according to a news release.

To qualify you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a minority or women-owned small business
  • Located in Erie County of NY State
  • In business for at least one full fiscal year as of September 23, 2016
  • Have at least 1 and a max of 50 full-time employees

The deadline to submit your application is Friday, September 23, 2016 at 5 p.m.

First place will receive $10,000.

Second and third place will receive $5,000.
