One of the best parts of living in Buffalo is the expansive selection of different places to eat outside scattered throughout the city. Each place is different, delicious and unique to itself. While there are so many locations, here are five fun outdoor spots to grab an appetizing meal or a cool drink on a hot summer day.
1. Dock at the Bay – Located 15 minutes outside of the city on Hoover Road in Blasdell, Dock at the Bay is situated right on the bay providing a beautiful, beach-like canvas as your backdrop when eating here. Along with freshly prepared seafood, steak, chicken, and salads, the Dock at the Bay hosts volleyball leagues right on their sand courts, and often there will be live music throughout the summer. Add in a few folk legends about ghosts that may be present, and the Dock at the Bay is much more than just good food.
3. Ristorante Lombardo If an upscale setting, a craving for rustic Italian cuisine and a check that won’t make your wallet cringe is what you’re in the mood for, look no further than Ristorante Lombardo. This Buffalo staple serves traditional Italian food that is both classic and delicious. Recently, the restaurant renovated its outdoor patio for an added stylish touch to this classic space. Lombardo’s is the spot for a charming evening for two, a night with good company, or an exquisite dinner party.
4. Resurgence Brewing Co. – Buffalonians have always had a love affair with beer. At Resurgence Brewing Co. on Niagara Street in Buffalo, they make our passion for beer a reality with a gorgeous, welcoming beer garden to boot. One of the hottest places to get a cold beer this summer, Resurgence draws a crowd with its craft beers and relaxed atmosphere. Be sure to get there early if you want a coveted seat outside. The garden is set up in a communal fashion which allows guests to easily socialize with one another. That is, you aren’t too busy playing a game of life-size jenga or gathering around the fire pit. The menu offers light fare from local favorites such as Gramma Mora ‘s, Martin Cooks, English Pork Pie Company, and Breadhive Bread.
