Buffalo Brewfest Takes it to the Cobblestone Streets

Buffalonians have a special bond with the crisp, foamy beverage that is beer. We drink it at our favorite sporting events, during a night out with friends, after a busy day at work or for no reason at all. And these days, Buffalo is buzzing about the craft beer craze, with new local breweries popping up all over town like Resurgence Brewing Company and the Hamburg Brewing Company.

As an homage to our love of beer, the Buffalo Brewfest has made an official day out of drinking and sampling different beers, a Buffalo pastime. More than 50 assorted beers will be available for the tasting from breweries across the state and region. Taking place on Friday, August 8, the Brewfest is taking it to the streets this year. Just a stone ‘s throw from its old home in the First Niagara Center, this year’s Brewfest will be a “street festival” held in the Cobblestone District that borders Buffalo’s Canalside waterfront park. The Cobblestone District includes Perry Street, Illinois Street, South Park Avenue and Michigan Street in downtown Buffalo.

Each $25 ticket grants you admission to the event, a souvenir sampling glass and 20 tokens that can be used to taste the various beers while listening to live music. For the beer connoisseur, extra tokens can be purchased at the event to taste additional beers.

Buffalo Brewfest is one of the most popular festivals in Buffalo throughout the year, and is a sell-out event every year. Tickets can be purchased here. You must be 21 years old to attend.

Enjoy an exciting night out with friends, quench your beer pallet, and find some new favorites all for a good cause at the 2014 Buffalo Brewfest. Festivities will run from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, August 8 on Illinois Street in the Cobblestone District, rain or shine. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center. Cheers to that, Buffalo!
