March Madness Bounces Into Buffalo

Roughly every four years, March Madness makes its way to Buffalo, New York. You can feel the excitement building today, as Syracuse comes to town to take on Western Michigan. In essence, a home game of sorts for ‘Cuse, which is located a couple hours down Interstate 90.

This year will be a bit different for hoops fans than the last time we hosted them. Visitors will be greeted to cranes outside of First Niagara Center, in addition to some great new places to eat along our developing Cobbestone and Canalside waterfront districts, which are sure to turn a few heads.

This will be my first year scoring tickets to the tournament. To say I ‘m excited is a bit of understatement. First Niagara Center (which is next-door to 43North’s offices at Z80 Labs) will be roaring when the ball tips off and the City of Buffalo will take center stage.

Year ’round, Buffalo is a great sports town with no shortage of teams to follow, whether it’s Buffalo Bills football, Sabres hockey, Bisons Triple-A baseball, Bandits indoor lacrosse or D-I college sports from the University at Buffalo, Canisius College or Niagara University.

I ‘ll provide an update of my NCAA tournament experience next week.
