BUFFALO, NEW YORK — Buffalo is about to take the Collision Conference by storm.
Today, 43North executive director John Gavigan and various Western New York entrepreneurial ecosystem leaders announced that more than two dozen members of Buffalo’s startup scene are currently traveling down to the Collision Conference in New Orleans, La. (April 26-28) to represent Buffalo to the conference’s 10,000+ attendees and cheer on four local startups that will be pitching in front of investors.
ACV Auctions, Loupe (formerly City Dining Cards), and Painless1099 will represent Buffalo at the Launch Pad PITCH competition, where they will battle with 21 other companies from seven other cities for the chance to advance to the semifinals of the larger 2016 Collision PITCH competition. The three startups were selected by Buffalo’s Launch Pad PITCH committee, consisting of representatives from 43North, Launch NY, Invest Buffalo Niagara, the University at Buffalo, Z80 Labs, the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, WNY Incubator Network (WIN), and several other organizations.
Additionally, 2015 43North winner Plum has been selected to participate in the Collision PITCH competition.
“We are excited that a large contingent of proud Western New York entrepreneurial ecosystem leaders are headed to the Collision Conference to support our startups and spread the word that Buffalo is a city on the rise for startups,” said John T. Gavigan, Launch Pad PITCH’s city leader for Buffalo and executive director of 43North.
